NATA Member Networking Listserv

The NATA Member Networking Listserv is an e mail mailing list to allow members to quickly and conveniently share information with other members who have e mail addresses. Members can send one e mail to the listserv address, and it will be broadcast to all participating members.

GUIDELINES FOR NATA LISTSERVE

The goals of this discussion group are to facilitate communication among NATA members, to offer a forum to exchange ideas and thoughts and to get answers to your questions that are relevant to trial practice. This is a valuable member service and your compliance with these guidelines is appreciated.

Bear in mind that although only NATA members can access this group, there is no way to guarantee absolute security. If you feel that the information you have to offer would benefit one of the participants, please contact them personally by phone or through your own personal email.

Please remember the goals of the discussion group and refrain from any advertising of services for your firm or other business associate(s). Testimonials based on experience with a vendor that would be beneficial to the participants is encouraged, however, using this forum for commercial purposes is not.

Members are not allowed to use the list to advertise or promote other organization’s seminar programs, including local Bar Associations, community and charitable groups, for profit entities or for products and services.

Remember that the participants in the group are your colleagues and deserving of respectful communication. Please refrain from inappropriate language or disparaging remarks concerning any individual.

NATA Listserve Etiquette Suggestions

The following are suggestions for conduct in the use of NATA’s listserve.  Each participant must police his or her own behavior and use his or her own judgment in terms of what is appropriate subject matter for this venue.  We do not have moderators to monitor listserve discussions, and using monitors would only serve to frustrate the legitimate purposes and uses of this list.

1.         Be courteous.

2.         Be mindful of the following facts:

            a.         The listserve is a NATA member benefit available to and accessible by all NATA members.

            b.         NATA members are voluntary dues payers who come from all different backgrounds – political, racial, religious, legal practice emphasis, etc.

            c.         It is essential that NATA increase membership numbers and membership participation, in donations of both time and money.

            d.         There is truth in the old adage that one should be careful about the company in which one discusses sensitive topics such as politics and religion.

3.         Participants are expected to keep listserve comments and discussions private among listserve participants.  Candid discussions of doctors, experts, etc. are of great benefit to participants.  Forcing participants in such discussions to censor input in order to avoid offending nonparticipants who become topics of discussions on this service only act to limit the value of this service.

4.         In spite of suggestion number 3 above, participants on the listserve should understand that it is not a secure means of communication and that anything posted to the service might find its way to unintended recipients.

5.         Please don’t use the listserve in any fashion that could work to the detriment of NATA.

6.         Before hitting the “send” button on something directed to the listserve, remember the Golden Rule: “Do unto others...”

The NATA reserves the right to terminate access to any user who does not abide by these guidelines.
